Holiday Entertaining Series: Kids!

CreateThe fourth installment in our series of holiday entertaining tips and tricks, these ideas are focused on the kids! After all, they play such a big role in making the magic of the holiday season come alive. It’s nice to include them in the party plans in their own special way!

Have your children craft a homemade gift to present to each guest. Set the gifts at each place setting on the dining table. Not only will it keep the kids busy while you prepare for the day’s festivities, it adds a cute, childlike charm that your guests are sure to appreciate.

Kids love to sing and dance, so let them put their talents to work by staging a play or mini concert for your guests to enjoy after dinner. This will make them feel special and gives your guests a chance to take a much-needed breather before dessert is served!

Baking is a favorite pastime for most children, so get them in the kitchen (ok, not the day of the big party or feast, but a day or two beforehand!) to bake a batch of special cookies or treats. It allows them a chance to contribute to the sweet treats featured on the dessert table.
