I added a little zing to my Oreo balls this weekend. Topped the balls with dark chocolate and sprinkles crushed peppermint chips on top! What a magnificent taste! Here is my Oreo ball recipe and all you need to do is add the peppermint chips. It’s as easy as that!
Here’s how to make them:
Take one package of Oreo cookies and crush them up (it’s best not to have large chunks of cookie, the finer the better; if you have a food processor, you can use that.) Add an 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese and, this is when the fun begins, use your hands to blend the cream cheese with the crushed Oreos. Using a cookie scoop, scoop out one balls worth of mixture, form a ball and place on a waxed paper covered cookie sheet. After all the balls are made, stick the cookie sheet in the fridge to chill the balls.
Melt any color or flavored chocolate melts (I love using my Wilton Chocolate Proelectric melter for this step) and dip the chilled Oreo Balls into the melted chocolate. Sprinkle on peppermint chips, decorating sugar, any treat you can think of.
Place back on the covered cookie sheet and chill until ready to serve. One package of Oreos yields approximately 36 Oreo Balls.
